WHAT? My pain just disappeared in an Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET) Session! How does that happen?

Here's how it works:

Mind-Body Connection

NET is based on the idea that unresolved emotional stress can become "stuck" in the body, manifesting as physical pain or tension. Emotions like fear, anger, or grief can influence the nervous system and create muscle tension, altered posture, or even chronic pain. Think about how we tighten our muscles when we feel distress. Often in the original event where this occurred it wasn't safe to process the emotion. That unprocessed emotion gets stored along with the tension in the muscle.

When a similar event happens it can become a pattern where the tension and the emotion are now inextricably linked. So if I tense up every time I'm around a person that appears to be yelling, eventually I might start feeling pain in those muscles.

Stress and the Nervous System

The body's stress response, governed by the autonomic nervous system, can amplify pain perception. That's where NET comes in. NET identifies the triggers, (i.e., a person yelling) and then resolves those emotional triggers. When the patient remembers the feeling and the event, breathes deeply while the practitioner gently taps the nervous system, it lets the body process the emotion, reducing the physiological effects of stress and pain.

This process also releases the emotional association tied to the pain. The best part is when you come across the thing that triggers it (the yelling person for example) and you genuinely feel better in your body, even if you still don't love people yelling.

Breaking the Pain-Stress Cycle

Another thing that happens is that chronic pain can lead to emotional distress. It’s stressful to be in pain, and as soon as the pain gets bad enough we tend to stress out about the pain, which makes the pain worse as we tighten muscles. And now we have a loop pain, which leads to stress, and the stress leads to more pain.

This is a cycle that NET aims to interrupt. By addressing the emotional side of the pain, NET helps the body to relax, which can reduce pain sensitivity and improve healing.

Holistic Approach

NET can’t always replace traditional medical treatment but it does work alongside it to address the emotional and neurological aspects of pain. This comprehensive approach supports the body's natural ability to heal.

By resolving these emotional stress patterns, NET can significantly reduce pain, improve emotional resilience, and enhance quality of life.
