Scar Massage
Scars that we can see resulting from injuries and surgeries, as well as scars and adhesions that we often can’t see, like those incurred through sports, repetitive work, illnesses or childbirth can affect how we feel, how we move and how our bodies and organs function. Much gentler, less painful, and more directly helpful than other modalities of scar remediation like gua sha or rolfing, my techniques encourage a body to relax on the table to allow changes from tightness, pain, pulling and limited mobility to that of freedom, ease, mobility, and flow in a typically shorter amount of time than the other scar bodywork modalities. The flow of blood and lymph work together to bring about your body’s natural inclination to heal itself. Where adhesions are sticking tissues together, the optimal flow of blood and lymph can be hindered. We address these adhesions to inspire space, comfort, strength, and movement.
Swedish Massage
A great way to relax and unwind, helping to energize a body and improve overall health by boosting immunity, manipulating the muscles and joints to relieve stress or pain, and by relaxing and stretching areas of tightness to promote blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. Massage may help reduce symptoms of depression, stress, and anxiety and can improve mood by promoting the production of dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin and reduce the production of cortisol, a stress-causing hormone. Regular massages will help you feel great, whether you have aches and pains or simply want to unwind.
Vibrational Healing Massage Therapy
A bodywork therapy designed to restore one to fluidity by providing touch techniques that work with the physical structure to free up past tensions and stresses that have been held in the body. This reawakening of the nervous system restores circulation to injured areas, moves energy and emotions, and helps in the release of chronic pain or stiffness. This modality is comprised of techniques that serve to align, loosen, and connect the body, so tensions can reverberate freely. By gentle stretching, rebounding, and torquing, a client is guided towards awareness of where in the body they have chronic tension and holding patterns. A recipient can begin to feel vibrations move within them as well as new awareness of the circulation of metabolic fluids flowing to once-rigid areas. This kind of bodywork doesn’t use oil, and can be given while the recipient is clothed.
Non-Surgical Facelifts
A relaxing and delightful way to rejuvenate tissue that gets compacted and gummed up due to biochemical stressors in our bodies, coupled with age and gravity, compounded most notably by day after day of stressful living. It’s like the work Andy does to address scarring and adhesions at injury or post-surgical sites, but on a face. He accidentally stumbled onto this fascinating skill set while attending a breast/chest health workshop. The same kind of tissue conditioning can be beneficial just about anywhere on the body.
